After years of maintaining a blog to a very poor standard, but still wanting to share my thoughts and interests with the world, I decided it might be easier to just start sharing my notes. These notes are at various stages of their lives, and may or may not ever be worked on again. Please take anything and everything here at face value, and if you’re reading any technical docs, run commands at your own risk :-)

For things I am currently working on or which have sufficient notes about a single subject or group of ideas, Maps may be an interesting place to look. The search is also relatively robust, so if you’ve come here at my recommendation and you’re looking for something we discussed, try typing in a few words that are related.

My Note Taking Style

I tend to use an outline style when taking notes. I figure if I made it through 4 years of college writing notes this way (though, by hand in college) I may as well keep going. I completely understand and appreciate the benefits of atomic notes, and I create some where possible. Most of the time though, it just doesn’t seem like a great use of my time.

Beyond what you see here, I use Obsidian to keep notes including thought logs, notes about projects, upcoming trips, etc. Loosely, I follow Nick Milo’s Ideaverse format, but it has evolved over time to match my particular needs.
